As the Lead Developer on the Web Team with our University Client, you will play a key role guiding a cutting-edge, WordPress development team to the next level where we work toward a continuous integration (DevOps) environment in AWS. We are a leading University in using WordPress on an enterprise level; join us as we look to take that leadership to the cloud.
This is a management position for a working developer. You will have direct reports *and* you will lead the development of code at a low level.
The successful candidate will:

-- have code to share for technical assessment that is in source control (and will hopefully impress us!)
-- have experience in Amazon Web Services
-- have experience in managing and mentoring a team of developers with a sharp focus on best practices
-- have a demonstrated ability to independently set and achieve goals in a complex and fast-moving environment
-- exhibit the expertise to work on highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas
This position requires great attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Your analytical skills need to include a high degree of creativity, engagement, and problem-solving ability. We place a premium on excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and a high energy level. You must have a strong commitment to customer service.
The position reports to the Associate Director, Web/Mobile Applications. As a key member of the Applications team, you'll also have meaningful responsibilities and tangible input into workflow and tools. You'll be expected to make recommendations and develop standards to improve overall efficiencies and smartly manage the growth of the technical landscape.
And last -- but certainly not least -- we highly value candidates who demonstrate a true passion for web technology. You and your team will develop and contribute to projects and websites that consistently win national awards. You and your team will develop on, and support, an extremely large web presence with a well-regarded national reputation that receives, on average, over 10 million page views per month.
Competitive salary, commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits (including tuition remission) and generous holiday/vacation time. The position is open to start immediately. This position is on-site, in downtown Boston.
