Job Description

Vitamin T is assisting an exciting NYC start-up with their need for a Visual Designer. This is an approx. 3-month role, full-time hours, onsite in Lower Manhattan. As the Visual Designer on this small team, you will work closely with ​interaction​​ designers, product managers, and engineers and will report to and work collaboratively with the VP of Experience Design. The Visual Designer position will be at the forefront of creating and producing engaging visual elements going from websites and email campaigns to icon collections, UI affordances or micro animations, and turning high-level concepts into pixel-perfect UI renderings and prototypes across different platforms. 

What you will be responsible for: 
 Website design 
 Email campaign design 
 Icon design 
 UI micro animations 
 Identity, logo, and branding design experience 
 Interface assets design from conception to delivery (sketches, creation and production) 
 Creation and maintenance of a UI library style guide 
 Creation and maintenance of brand guidelines 
 Supporting product marketing and branding collateral  

Requirements:
 5-8 years designing for the web and mobile 
 Advanced knowledge of IOs and Material design guidelines 
 Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 
 Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite on a Mac platform, particularly with Illustrator and Photoshop 
 Intimate understanding of the digital world (desktop, tablet, iPads and iPhones/smart phone) 
 Good understanding of information architecture and user interface essentials and how they relate to visual design. 
 Understands the importance of website performance and is motivated to design for extreme optimization. 
 Excellent understanding of design principles, typographic, and user experience 
 Interest in usability testing and performance metrics 
 Expert eye for detail and pixel perfection; no detail is too small or insignificant 

Bonus: 
 Animation skills using After-Effects or similar.
