Our client are a leading tech brand based in Reading that work across a huge range of sectors and projects, from cutting edge computer tech and robotics to auto-drive car systems! They are currently seeking a conceptual yet incredibly hands on freelance Senior Designer / Art Director (ideally with a slightly more digital focus) to join them in January 2018 to cover for their current Senior Designer for 4 months who is going on leave. They are still confirming the exact dates but in addition to this particular freelance opening, our client are also currently building a black book of freelance designers they can call on for projects so if you're unavailable for this time but still interested, please do still get in touch.
On a day-to-day basis, these candidates would be working across a huge range of art direction and design, across predominantly Digital, UI/UX, landing pages and campaigns whilst able to get involved in all other work such as events printed collateral and branding. Candidates who have worked with them before have also had the opportunity to work on some great, meaty digital projects such as Augmented and Virtual Reality apps! They have a very fast paced environment and, although in-house, act almost like a creative agency as the work is incredibly varied and partnering for some of the biggest names in tech and automotive.
Skills & Experience:
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe design suite software.
- Excellent conceptual / art direction skills.
- Understanding of UI / UX for digital design.
- A portfolio showing a mix of digital and some print work.
- Ideally have agency experience or client-side when working with lots of different accounts.
- Being able to follow projects through to artwork.
- Team management / mentoring skills.
- Any UX experience.
- Any motion After Effects or Cinema 4D would be a huge bonus.
In addition to skills and experience, they have a very social culture and encourage a work-hard/ play-hard attitude. So although the work load can be pretty intense at times, they love to integrate every creative that joins them.
In regards to location, if you live in central London with easy access to Paddington station, there is a 25 minute fast train to Reading from there and then a 15 minute bus journey on the other end (which pulls up just outside their office campus).
They do have plenty of parking though so if driving is an option that would be best!
