Job Description

The SEO and Paid Media Strategist is responsible for implementing the strategy behind both organic search and paid media practices, while integrating best practices into the Marketing lifecycle and framework. This individual must be able to pair strategies with business goals, consider out of the box solutions, and tie SEO and paid media endeavors together to execute a full strategy. This position requires a self-driver and initiator, and someone with a passion for the digital space.

While not ideal, our client is open to considering someone that does not live in Austin, or that can be onsite full-time, but that can be meet in person at least one time per month. 


  • Provide leadership and decision making on SEO and paid media practices
  • Manage the relationship with external agencies as appropriate
  • Work collaboratively across divisions to integrate SEO best practices into work efforts in addition to providing on-page SEO recommendations pertaining to technical and performance components including meta title, description, URL structure, internal links, and content opportunities
  • Educate teams on SEO best practices and how to integrate into their daily responsibilities
  • Understand and communicate the results and value that the SEO and paid media initiatives are driving
  • Work with external agencies and in-house teams to set-up, maintain, and optimize metrics and reporting for tactical and leadership audiences
  • Perform keyword research and understand what methods we should incorporate to gain value
  • Testing and optimizing of ads and campaigns
  • Manage budget for campaigns and ads
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and search practices to boost future efforts


  • Minimum of 3 years combined experience in a search and paid media role
  • 2+ years in Web Analytics/Reporting
  • Thorough understanding of Google Analytics
  • Experience using Adwords and LinkedIn paid channels
  • Working knowledge of CMS systems and how they function, preferably WordPress
  • Proficient with SEO platforms and tools such as BrightEdge or Conductor
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills required
  • Analytical thinker/problem solver
  • Knowledgeable in HTML, CSS and JavaScript and how it plays into each practice
  • Organizational/Planning skills
  • Energetic with a strong work ethic and drive to succeed
  • Education: BA/BS or equivalent work experience is required
