Job Description

Our client, a digital engagement provider, is looking for a solid UX / Visual Designer to join their team on a temporary basis!

Start Date: ASAP

Location: split time on-site in Wayne, PA and Center City Philadelphia [3 days at Vanguard Digital Innovation Center / 2 days at Mobiquity]

Duration: November 2017 ongoing through 2018

Client Description:

Mobiquity is looking for a Freelance UX / Visual Designer who want to drive solutions and concepts from “idea” to “finished product” and help to improve every aspect of the experiences we create. You’ll create elegant, inspiring and relevant interface design solutions and work collaboratively with both our clients and our cross-functional internal project teams.

As a Designer, you should be a passionate and curious individual with a compulsive dedication to the look and feel, design language, interactions and choreography of the experiences you create.

For this role, you will be expected to work across two separate proof of concept teams, supporting each team’s UX Architect in each team in rapidly creating medium fidelity comps/prototypes and providing input/ideas on UX decisions at key points in the projects. You may also be asked to create wireframes, with guidance from the architect, depending on specific project need. You will be working on-site at a client innovation center in downtown Philadelphia and may occasionally need to work from Mobiquity’s office in Wayne, PA.

*NOTE:  Applicants without a portfolio will not be considered. We want to see how you solve for different screen sizes, emerging design patterns, technologies and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in product ideation and conceptual development of experiences.
  • Create visual designs that effectively communicate product function and brand identity, including the design and production of screen layouts, color palettes, typography, user interface elements, and icons.
  • Produce design specifications, digital redlines, storyboards, scenarios, and design prototypes.
  • Successfully communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale, both verbally and visually.
  • Translate wireframes and functional diagrams into designs that convey simplicity, despite system and user need complexity.
  • Engage clients through storytelling and rapid prototyping methods, ranging from paper sketching to digital prototyping.
  • Give data meaning through information visualization.
  • Maintain and inspire high standards for all aspects of the creative process.
  • Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes other designers, project management, business and marketing strategists, and hardware and software developers.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that design specifications are implemented
  • Continually evaluate, set and reset expectations internally and externally, always striving to exceed client expectations.

About You

  • 5+ years of user interface design experience.
  • Strong and flexible skills in visual design and interaction design.
  • Knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to consumer applications, preferably mobile devices, rich web applications and websites, interactive TV, and/or emerging platforms.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Invision, and Zeplin.
  • Basic knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of Web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Extremely high attention to detail and ability to collaborate across a cross-functional team.
  • You are able to communicate in a clear, consistent, and transparent manner.
  • You take ownership and responsibility for your work.
  • You are comfortable and confident in situations of ambiguity. You propose solutions instead of problems.
  • You are a professional. You are flexible and willing to succeed in a rapidly changing environment
  • You are passionate about representing the human perspective in design and you have skills in bringing this passion to life for the team.
  • You have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in graphics design, interaction design, fine arts, or a related design discipline.
  • Experience designing motion graphics with tools such as Hype, Keynote, Flash or Adobe After Effects a plus.
