Job Description

Client: Design Firm located in Downtown Los Angeles
​Contract to Hire, full time hours on-site

- Writing experience (samples are mandatory), you will be doing social media content, blogs, and press releases as well as editing them.
- Submit writing sample from previous job, or create some based on clients website
- Passion for social media and digital marketing! Willingness to learn and grow with the organization and provide input across projects

• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, 
Communications, or related field 
• Minimum of two years of experience in public 
relations and/or marketing (work experience in the 
design world is a plus) 
• Excellent writing, editing, and research skills 
• Excellent communications skills 
• Strong organizational and project management skills 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well 
in a team environment 
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks on 
tight deadlines 
• High standards for presentation and preparation 
of materials 
• Experience in media relations and an ability to 
interact with the press 
• Proven understanding and effective use of social 
media platforms and communications tools 
• Proficiency in software programs including Microsoft 
Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite 
• Experience using a social media management 
platform such as HootSuite is helpful 
• Knowledge of database programs including Deltek 
Vision and OpenAsset preferable 
• Able to travel to other offices and/or client 
project locations as needed 

• Research coverage and industry trends; monitor the 
media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, 
broadcasts, newswires, and blogs for opportunities 
• Directly manage and support social media accounts 
(including developing content, posting, and reporting) 
• Write and edit press releases, conference and award 
submissions, and other special writing projects 
• Identify awards opportunities for on the boards and 
completed projects 
• Prepare and manage communications calendar 
• Promote news stories and features to the media 
• Maintain strong relationships with editors, reporters, 
clients, and team members; serve as liaison on a daily 
basis with the media, often via telephone and e-mail, 
in support of PR / Communications Manager 
• Support the execution of internal communications, 
developed by PR / Communications Manager 
• Support other marketing and communications 
initiatives as needed 
*Responsibilities for PR / Communications Coordinator may 
vary based on office size and structure 

• Director of Marketing 

• Work often requires repetitive movement of 
the wrists, hands and/or fingers. 
• Concentrated mental and/or visual attention; 
work involves performing tasks to very close 
accuracy and quality specifications.
