Job Description


We are looking for a UI/UX Designer Lead who can Create wireframes, site maps, and web behavior for data intensive websites and portals (statistics/visualization) 
UX / Web / Mobile / Response Design skills 
Business / Requirements Analysis skills 
Analyze audiences and their informational and functional needs. 
Conduct user research, such as user interviews, task analysis, and card sorting 
Define and update site architecture and navigation that serves as a blueprint of the site upon which all other aspects are built. 
Develop prototypes to test and validate redesigned website
UX/UI Lead: portfolio and links to design, wires, mockups, etc. 

A Strong Candidate will be: 
Team Players (communicates openly & frequently with team members, and managers; desire to understand big picture as opposed to the piece they are working on; asks questions and open to feedback)  

Local to DC area (some cases partial telecommuting is possible) 

Can Pass public Trust (for ext. government positions) 
Experience in an Agile environment 

EXAMPLE OF A DELIVERABLE THEY'D BE WORKING ON: 
Create wireframes, site maps, and web behavior to describe the intended user experience. 
Some UI/UX Design skills 

TOOLS/MUST HAVES:  

Must have strong communications skills 
Must have experience creating IA for sites that make heavy use of statistics, query tools, dashboards and visualizations – preferably in the realm of health or education statistics 
Experience working with the development process & dev teams that involves platforms such as open source, java, .net, etc. or any content management system is a Plus 
5+ years of experience managing teams and / or performing IA 
Strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology 
Strong knowledge of information architecture-related software (Balsamic, mockflow, Visio, Axure, etc.) 
Design Capabilities (e.g. Photoshop) 
Working knowledge of User Centered Design Principles and Practices 
Exceptional communication skills 
Detail-oriented 
Working knowledge/familiarity of web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript 
Beneficial Experience: 
Working in the government domain
