Vitamin T is currently in search of a Senior Textile Designer for our client in Metro Detroit. This is a permanent opportunity!

Senior Textile Designer Summary  An exciting opportunity for a talented Textile Designer and leader who will be responsible for the development and design of our woven fabrics and a senior member of the design team. Existing experience in woven design and development is required.  This position requires 50%+ of time spent exclusively on woven development; the secondary responsibilities of this role will include printed pattern design and development.  A successful candidate with also have some existing knowledge of textile print manufacturing processes, patterns, colorways and repeats.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new woven constructions for development to maintain leadership and authority as an expert in outdoor textiles
  • Prepare development direction and communicate clearly with overseas offices and mills while maintaining accurate and detailed development records
  • Lead mills in accurately achieving a match to requested color standards through fiber blending (must have an excellent mastery of color theory to visualize recommended blends)
  • Travel internationally if/when required to work directly with fabric mills for development or pre-production execution (approximately 1-2 times per year)
