Vitamin of the Week: Lorena Martinez (San Francisco)

Lorena Martinez

No doubt about it, as a Vitamin T agent, Lorena rocks.

She’s creative, tech-savvy, and incredibly resourceful; everything you’d love to have in the person finding you a great gig in the hub of the tech universe.

So hop aboard, and be sure to rock on, as she answers our 7 Quick Questions!

  1. What do you love about working with creative talent? I love reviewing portfolios and talking through their favorite projects and clients. Matchmaking is one of my favorite aspects of this work and helping creatives land their dream job is my biggest motivation.

  2. What’s the BEST thing someone can do when looking for a job? Be confident, yet humble in your abilities AND clear about your desires. It helps so much when creatives know just what they want (and what they don’t). And, obviously, every hiring manager loves to meet someone who is both driven and realistic about their motivation. Eye on the prize!

  3. What’s your favorite interview question? “Tell me about the boss, manager, or employer who has gotten the best work from you.” This helps with gauging culture fit and productivity when thinking of matchmaking with our clients.

  4. What’s your favorite brand and why? Oprah, because of her commitment to helping people and making the world a better place. Everything she represents (mindfulness, respect, love, serenity) are elements of living that mean a lot to me.

  5. Who is your creative or digital hero? Yayoi Kusama. She's a fascinating, elusive artist. I love playful, silly art that's rooted in something human, maybe dark...maybe even scary. She’s inspiring and I think her commitment to her own aesthetic is beautiful.

  6. If you had to pick two celebrities to be your parents, who would they be? Celia Cruz and RuPaul. Tough love, amazing music, beautiful art, and fun.

  7. In your job, what’s been your favorite moment or biggest joy? My biggest joy is helping my teammates. We’re super collaborative and supportive of each other and our managers do everything they can, too. It’s a great environment to work in with so many moving parts with the work.

  8. What’s the name of the last book you read? The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer. I loved the tools offered in how to shift thinking, be in acceptance, and live in unconditional happiness.
