Vitamin of the Week: Anne Natasha Josephratnam (Toronto)

Anne Natasha Josephratnam

With years of experience hitting home runs in both the staffing and creative worlds, we’re ecstatic to have Anne playing on our Toronto team as a Director of Business Development.

Whether you’re looking for great creative talent, a challenging game of chess, or a tasty brioche (she’s both an accomplished chess player and baker), you’ll find what you need and more as you read her answers to our 7 Quick Questions!

  1. What do you love most about working at Vitamin T? I’ve been involved in creative work my whole life: I’ve been a writer, dancer, an abstract painter, and I’ve also taught art to children. I’m also a partner in a film & 3D animation company. Working here gives me the perfect blend of feeding my love for all things creative and working with amazing people. I get to connect the coolest digital talent with the coolest clients in Toronto, what's there NOT to love?!

  2. Best creative/digital event in your city? FITC, the technology and creativity conference. It's an annual conference that celebrates the best in design, web development, media, and innovation in creative technologies. It's really a great event for anyone who creates in the digital space. See you there next year?

  3. In your job, what’s been your favorite moment or biggest joy? When I hear a client say "You were right, he/she is what I have been looking for!"

  4. Who is your creative or digital hero? At the moment it’s got to be LA-based artist Alexa Meade. After leaving her life in politics behind to pursue her passion for the arts, her work went viral almost instantly. (Her TED talkYour Body is my Canvas” has been viewed over 2 million times.) I cannot get enough of her brilliant pieces! She uses people as her canvas by combining real life and two-dimensional paintings to create stunning pieces of art. Definitely Instagram-follow worthy! Check out her work and try wrapping your head around her art.

  5. What’s the BEST thing someone can do when looking for a job? Network! Network! Network! Tell everyone you talk to that you're actively looking for a job. Find out about them and what they do and tell them about yourself. While it's easy to get caught up with traditional job boards, we often forget that the missing link to that next great role may be hidden in our own network of family, friends, and ex-colleagues/clients. Be fearless: put yourself out there, make some new connections, and get others excited about what you bring to the table. A great networking event that takes place here in Toronto is run by Tuni Talks. It's a bi-weekly event that brings together professionals, entrepreneurs, and rising stars to mingle and share ideas in fun, free, and friendly environments. Check them out!

  6. What app do you use regularly that provides great user experience? Absolutely loving Evernote at the moment! It's a great app that allows you to keep track of our notes, ideas, write ups, pictures, and to-do's in one neat little place and it's super user friendly. You really can’t beat it.

  7. As a 5 year old, what did you want to be when you grew up? A traveling ballerina. Fast forward a few years and while I'm not a ballerina, I have travelled to over 20 countries:)
