The latest data from the Department of Labor paints a sobering picture of the unemployment crisis in Massachusetts. Worse, many are finding it difficult to get relief from both COVID-19 unemployment assistance and the Paycheck Protection Program. According to Chuang there a lot of people who are not getting counted. “They’re executing this through 50 state unemployment offices,” he said, “overwhelmed with just normal applications.”
