A happy blustery March, to you!

Speaking of which, we’re continuing to march through selections from our 2016 Talent Calendar, presenting you with yet another beautiful desktop wallpaper, “LINE” by Kimiyo Tsumura.

Currently residing in Tokyo, Kimiyo is an art director and designer who’s created illustrations, designs, and photography for just about every industry you can imagine: cosmetics, food and beverage, healthcare, government, heavy equipment.... you name it!

Three months before our Calendar Call for Entries, she was playing a Pictionary-type game with her designer friends, which led to the creation of this piece.

One designer would choose a topic, then each would draw whatever came to their minds. While Kimyo was contemplating, the white electrical outlet on the living room wall caught her attention. She immediately broke out her calligraphy ink and a wooden chopstick and got to work.

About her piece, Kimyo says, “Aside from the outlet, the world of the Internet and how it impacts personal relationships also inspired this piece. We're either online or offline, either way we can't get away from lines 24hrs a day. For better or worse, get in line!”

She counts among her artistic influences Yuma Harada (UMA/design farm), Ryosuke Uehara & Yoshie Watanabe (KIGI), Kenya Hara, Joanna Neborsky, and all her design friends.

Thanks again to Kimiyo and all the talented artists who contributed work to our 2016 calendar!
