A Must Attend Event for Anyone Who Makes Websites

Source: Jeffrey Zeldman

It’s not often you come across an event where an attendee tweets, “I learn more from @aneventapart each year than I did as an undergrad.”

But tweet they do.

Because from the King of Web Standards Jeffrey Zeldman and World CSS Authority Eric Meyer to User interface Expert Jared Spool and the Godfather of Responsive Web Design Ethan Marcotte, there is simply no better conference to attend if you’re involved in creating websites. Or supervising people who make sites.

Twelve leading minds from the world of web design and development get together for two days of nonstop inspiration and enlightenment? Now you know why we attend - and sponsor! - every single one.

We’re already 8 months into 2014, but thankfully there are still 4 more An Event Apart shows left!

We thought we’d share a bit of what we’ve seen and learned this year, so you can:

1) Have some great resources from the top minds in design and development.

2) Hit your boss up for a blessing to attend one of the last shows.

(Did we mention that there’s one at Disney World?)

  • Web designer and developer Chris Coyier gave an amazing SVG talk. No session this year had more “oohs” and “ahhs” from the crowd. The Twitterverse momentarily swooned. Best of all, he created this amazing Compendium of SVG Information which Jeffrey Zeldman calls  “ridiculously huge.”

  • An Event Apart shares their resources after each show. Keep a steady hand on your mouse, there’s an incredible amount of information in here!

  • While not as good as being there, Luke Wroblewski takes outstanding notes on the sessions which he always shares on his blog.

  • Want to see what the events are really like? Check out these photos on flickr.

  • You can follow @aneventapart tweets and see notes from attendees while the sessions are happening.

  • Enjoy hour-long sessions shared from AEA events (like this one from Mobile First author Luke Wroblewski). Get them by joining their subscription list.

Best of all, you can get $100 off your next AEA event, by entering our promo AEAVT into the Discount Code box.

Will we see you there? Hope so!
