There’s no algorithm for success in the digital world. No one true path to the corner office. (*sigh*)

If there were, then certainly Google would have it in Beta somewhere, right? Wait, maybe they do? Regardless...

Sometimes it takes a series of bold, risky moves to propel us to the top. Other times it's a stroke of luck that lands you on the fast track. And, weirdly, sometimes success can hit while you’re in the jungles of Costa Rica (see Michael Karnjanaprakorn’s path).

But career success in the interactive realm is a mystery we strive to unravel.

Which is why we talked to five of the industry's best−startup folks, designers, global bosses, and social media journalists/Twitter addicts to chronicle the triumphs, tribulations, and turning points just to see (and share) how each turned from Peter Parker into an interactive superhero.

We think they could officially be called I-Men (and Women). We think you’ll agree.

As you’ll soon see in our infographic, navigating an interactive career is as much an art as designing a beautiful website (or a fancy infographic).

So gather your bravura, your wits, your passion for doing killer work. Lock complacency in a closet and swallow the key. And when you’re ready to make a move, don’t forget to connect with us for a little help navigating the crossroads of your own quest for greatness.

Good luck out there.
