For business development director Michelle Quinn, making sure her clients stay laser focused on their deliverablesinstead of rummaging through thousands of resumes and portfoliosis the name of the game.

She’s helped oodles of our clients quickly find the creatives they need—for as long as they need them.

Check out her answers to our 7 Quick Questions, then be sure to give her a ring when you need a little or a lot of help!

  1. What’s one important skill every person should have and why? The ability to make a great first impression. Think about it, how many times have you met someone and, as soon as they left, you forgot all about them and had no idea what they did? Make sure YOU have a compelling, but brief, elevator pitch about yourself. Networking happens everywhere and with every single person you meet. Make sure the people you've met will remember your name and why they will want to talk to you again.
  2. What’s the BEST thing someone can do when looking for a job? Be prepared! That means a lot of work, but it will be well worth it. Make sure your portfolio is clean and all the links work and ensure your resume has NO spelling errors. For interviews, you need to even more prepared:
    • Be early or on time!
    • Know your client and the people you'll be meeting.
    • Have at least 3 really good questions to ask.
    • Make sure you can tell them exactly WHY they should hire you.
  3. Best creative/digital event in your city? I would say INBOUND, which was my favorite event last year. It’s jam-packed with attendees and the lineup of keynote speakers and presenters is impressive (2016 INBOUND includes Seth Godin and Aziz Ansari). The breakout sessions are long enough to get some great intel, but short enough to keep you moving and awake. Also, having Roxy's Grilled Cheese truck out front for lunch was a bonus!
  4. Biggest myth about working with a staffing industry? That we don't bring enough value to the table. It's a CRAZY notion! We are experts in identifying digital and creative talent and the service we provide eliminates the hundreds of man hours and saves thousands of dollars....actually just in the sourcing legwork alone! Our clients understand the value and love us because we've proven that we know this space and how to identify the best candidates for them, super fast. We help our clients focus their efforts on deliverables and that makes THEIR clients happy. That's money in the bank!
  5. What made you want to work at Vitamin T? I love what I do because when we connect super talented people with clients who need them, some pretty cool things happen: your Internet browsing becomes faster and safer, a new life-saving technology is invented, and the ads play during the Super Bowl keep you entertained. I also really enjoy talking to super smart, motivated people who get things done. Many of our clients do work that changes/improves others lives and/or well being and that’s just really exciting and rewarding.
  6. What’s your favorite interview question? I love the question, "Tell us why you want to work here." I honestly believe the answer can make or break an interview. As a candidate, if you've done your homework, you can hit this one out of the park. Showing a prospective client that you know who they are, what they can give you, and what you can bring to the table, is the best way to close the deal.
  7. If you could invent an app, what would it be and why? I would invent an app that would shut down all access to social media when the user becomes too intoxicated. You'd have to pass a breathalyzer before you could text, post, or even call someone (it would have some form of emergency phone access). I think this would save a lot of people from saying things they didn't want or just really shouldn't say. Especially to one million other people or, even worse, their ex! It would be called SaveYourself.
